Exteriors

Redesign Entire Exteriors of a House

Project Overview

Retained to deliver a comprehensive schematic design package for a complete exterior facade transformation of a long-standing residential property. The homeowners sought to completely reimagine the building’s aesthetic identity, which had remained unchanged for 15 years. The scope involved deep client consultation, rigorous site analysis, and the development of high-fidelity 3D design alternatives tailored to the clients’ vision and budgetary framework.

Core Architectural Services Delivered

Consultation & Visioning

  • Client-Centric Design Programming: Conducted a series of structured design workshops to meticulously capture and synthesize the homeowners’ aesthetic preferences, functional needs, and design aspirations.
  • Iterative Concept Evolution: Developed a clear narrative path—illustrated via conceptual design strips—to demonstrate how client feedback directly shaped the final architectural form.

Site Analysis & Documentation

  • As-Built Documentation: Performed a comprehensive site survey, including precise physical measurements, to produce accurate as-built drawings of the existing structure.
  • Site & Accessibility Analysis: Evaluated the building’s orientation, microclimate factors, and site access points to inform the positioning and performance of new facade elements.

Design Development & Visualization

  • 3D Digital Modeling: Utilized advanced 3D visualization software to generate multiple distinct architectural alternatives, allowing the clients to clearly preview spatial volume, shadow play, and streetscape impact.
  • Material & Budgetary Research: Conducted a targeted market analysis of high-performance exterior cladding materials and finishes to ensure design viability within the established budgetary constraints.

Project Status Note

Following the successful completion of the schematic design phase, the project was strategically paused due to the macroeconomic impacts of COVID-19, including supply chain volatility, trade shortages, and fluctuating material costs. The project remains shovel-ready for future construction phases.
